Le Tour de France – My video of Stage 9

Le Tour de France – My video of Stage 9

Apologies – I forgot to upload this post after the last video!

For me this was the most memorable Stage we saw due to the added hazard for the riders of cobbled sections. Not only was it my favourite location, but this is my favourite video of the 5 Stages we saw. Sorry you had to wait to see it!

The 2018 Tour de France ended on the 29th of July with a victory in Paris for Welshman, Geraint Thomas. It was a hard fought race until the penultimate stage in the mountains of the Pyrenees.

Before Geraint could win the ultimate prize in cycling, he would have to complete 21 stages over 3 weeks totaling 3,349 km.

We traveled from Scotland to see five stages of this year’s race and the fifth of those was Stage 9 on the 15th of July in the Pas de Calais, near the village of Paillencourt, marked with the red arrow on the following maps.

This is the overall Tour map with our location for Stage 8 shown by the red arrow.

This is the Stage 9 map with our location shown by the red arrow.

This is the satellite view of our location for Stage 9 with our parking place shown by the yellow arrow and the red arrow shows where we saw the riders pass. The riders came from the bottom of the picture and the video shows them at the end of one of the cobbled sections before entering the village.

The original blog post describing our day at Stage 9 can be found HERE but the following video was not edited in time to include it with the blog.
